The Promenade Shops: Be In the Know

The Promenade at Bonita Bay, 26811 South Bay Drive, will host the upcoming 2014 Community Business Expo, according to the Naples Daily News, on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Business Expo is sponsored by the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and the city of Bonita Springs.

The Promenade will provide entertainment, free giveaways to the first 500 guests, and an opportunity for the more than 70 confirmed chamber member exhibitors to display their products and services.

Construction is underway at DeRomo’s, a new gourmet market and restaurant in the Promenade, this Fort Myers News-Press article, says.

Founder Francis J. Cuomo, who has an Italian heritage, was inspired by Sunday family dinners while growing up in the Bronx.

“Growing up with a very large family—a lot of sisters, a lot of brothers, a lot of aunts and uncles, they all loved to cook and bake so I was brought up around that,” Cuomo said. “So having good food was always under my nose constantly.”

The market will feature fresh meat and seafood, hot and cold prepared food, fresh produce, a full deli and cheese department, coffee bar, an international wine selection, bakery, homemade gelato and sorbet, catering, and a breezeway connecting DeRomo’s restaurant.

The breezeway will include a handmade pasta viewing station and custom gift basket center.

“When it comes to great food and service, I wanted to bring the Italian tradition and passion here,” said Cuomo.

DeRomo’s is set to open this spring and we can’t wait for some good, old-fashioned Italian comfort food.
